Text Calculus, Larson, et al. (1998). We will be working through most of chapters 1 - 6 and part of 7.
Materials Folder or a Binder. There may be additional notes and/or handouts that you need to keep organized. All handouts will be 3-hole punched.
Overview Calculus is a mathematical way of thinking that opened up the universe to much of today’s understanding, especially in physics. It is math of continuity; math that only deals with functions that describe uniform and uniformly changing behavior. This is AP, so the focus is on creating an environment and attitude for success on the exam.
Grading Grades will be based on points, but your greatest emphasis should be on understanding so that you may be successful on the AP Exam in May, 2009. Earned points divided by the total possible points will determine your “average”. The points may be earned from homework, quizzes, and tests.
Daily Procedure Please enter class prepared to work. This means you have your notebook, something to write with and the homework from the day before, and have it out on the desk. In order to be successful, we need to use the full time, every day. In class time will be time for business.
